The Riff Master

Loop, slow down, and master any riff. A Voast app for musicians who build songs from repetition — pick songs from your library, loop a section, and practice at lower speeds. For iPhone and iPad on the Apple App Store.

What it is

The Riff Master is Voast’s first native experience on Apple platforms. It is built around the way players actually practice: short ideas, loops, and variations that turn into parts you can perform and record. Think of it as a focused surface for riff-driven work, not a toy keyboard.

Who it is for

Musicians and people who love music. Maybe you keep replaying one part of a song because it hits every time. Maybe you want to really learn that section on your instrument instead of guessing your way through it. The Riff Master is built for that kind of obsession and curiosity, whether you play every day or you are still finding your footing.

Platform

The Riff Master targets modern iOS. When Apple approves the listing, you will be able to install it from the App Store like any other Voast release; until then, this page is the canonical summary on voast.com.

Getting started

Riff Master lets you pick any song from your music library, set a start and end point, and loop just that section while you practice. Here is how:

  • Add a riff — Tap the + button on the Home screen or browse the Songs tab to pick a song.
  • Set the loop — Drag the green S and red E markers on the loop track, use the Set Start / Set End buttons, or tap the time values to type an exact time.
  • Slow it down — Use the speed slider to reduce playback from 100% down to 25%.
  • Save your riff — Tap Save in the top-right corner. Your riff appears on the Home screen, ready to pick up where you left off.
  • Find tutorials — Tap "Find Videos" to search YouTube for walkthroughs and live performances of the song.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I see my music library?

Riff Master needs permission to access your Apple Music library. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Media & Apple Music and make sure Riff Master is enabled. Note: Riff Master works with songs stored on your device. Streaming-only songs from Apple Music are not supported.

How many riffs can I save?

The free version lets you save up to 2 riffs. You can unlock unlimited riffs with a one-time in-app purchase.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open the app and try to create a riff beyond the free limit. On the upgrade screen, tap Restore Purchase. Your previous purchase will be restored automatically.

Can I set an exact start or end time?

Yes. Tap the green start time or the red end time on the riff screen. A text field will appear where you can type a time in m:ss format (for example, 1:30).

Why does playback jump to the start when I hit play?

If you scrub to a position inside the loop region and then tap play, playback starts from where you scrubbed. If you scrub outside the loop region, playback resets to the loop start.

What playback speeds are available?

You can slow playback from 100% down to 25% in 5% increments. Tap the speed percentage to reset to full speed.

Does Riff Master collect my data?

No. Riff Master does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.
